Links galore

nothing really new here today again. last night at work i do believe, was political day. thats about all we talked about anyways. very interesting informative and definitely got the mind working. i started the conversation because i was bored. bored on a sunday you ask. yes very, go figure. anyways i got a bunch of links to work with here. all sorts of stuff...pics, news stories, interesting websites, its all here. Guess what. The US Goverment has bought an entire town so they can practice with homeland security. neat idea. wish i could own a town. The sad part is i had to read that from the BBC not from a US publication, hmmm. interesting. You know when you go to a website that says you can build your own and then it shows examples of what the site looks like and it has all that text that says absolutly nothing and looks like gibberish. well, that is called Lorem Ipsum. some one has made an alternative that you can actually read and figure out where it came from. they take bits and pieces of songs, tv theme songs, and novels and puts them into a paragraph. not very usefull but fun anyways. Here is some cool pics of exotic cars that have been in accidents. ok i thinks that all for today. talk to you later joe FYI: A male firefly's light is twice as bright as the female's

Thursdays Thunderous Tiddlywinks

We get our new bed ont he 28th, Tehans is delivering it for free apparently. cool for us. uhm...someone was looking at the apartments that i want to buy yesterday from buffalo. so probably itll get taken, its seems quite the good deal but... just keep a thought for us. so onto a bunch of stuff that i thought was interesting/amusing that i found last night. This was an interesting interpretation of the voting for the president in florida and the recent hurricanes that went through there. This is a little late for the Talk like a pirate week but here it is anyways. just in case you dont understand what the pirates are saying. well, hope you enjoy them, i have a few pics that i found on the internet that seems interesting/funny/cute ill post them soon enough. talk to you later joe FYI: "Challanger Deep" is the deepest point on Earth and can hold 25 Empire State Buildings end to end.

Tuesdays Tubular Titalations

or a construction update. its that time of week again, apparently they were on the ball this week and not late like last week, the Insider was up yesterday. here we go: "Marble floor tile wass installed last week in the rotunda that links the Events Center with the second floor of the Winter Garden. the rotunda is under a skylight and will have glass and sculpture in the center. The structure for the outer wall of the Events Center is up, and some of the glass panels on the outer wall are in place. Inside, the seating has been installed and is covered while painting and the finishing work continues. Floor tile installation also is moving along in the Winter Garden. Crews are working on electrical and mechanical installations on the second floor, which will house a new themed restaurant and provide access to the Events Center. The palm trees and other plants and grasses have been planted; there are plants along the front windows, around the grand stairway and other areas. Carpet and furniture installation continued last week in the Tower Hotel. Crews also are finishing up the top two floors, which includes the new members-only restaurant on the top level. The Tower will have 287 rooms, including seven VIP suites and 14 corner suites. The second floor of the Tower, which links to the Events Center, will have meeting rooms. The clubhouse at Atunyote Golf Club is progressing quikly in preperation for the Eastern PGA Golf Championship at the end of September. Workers are installing rich wood paneling and accents throughout the building, and they have begun laying carpet and tiling in the locker rooms and lounge areas. Wall units, counters and carpet have been installed in the pro shop area, and the bar and other fixtures are in place in the restaurant." They say within two months they should have it all open. im thinking that itll be around the end of next month seeing as they have a conference that they are going to be holding in the events arena at the end of oct i believe it was. they arent going to cancel it, obviously. we shall see. nothing new here just mailed out my papers for the loan today hopefully again, by next week ill hear something. talk to you later joe

Mondays Moniacal Ministrations

welcome again. nothing new here, i found a couple of really interesting things on the internet this fine monday morning. one is a puzzle game where you use the mouse to go through a maze, but all the actions on the mouse are now turned backwards. you move the mouse up the cursor goes down, you move the mouse right the cursor goes left. neat little game. The other is a word count site. you type in a word and it tells you what it ranks. i think its the top 18800, or 80800 orsomething like that, words. just a neat little thing to waste your time. im sending out my papers for the loan today to see if they will give me a loan, i hope to hear from them in another week or so. i hope. other than this nothing is going on. another boring night at work last night, we didnt get the rush like we usually do on sundays so we were out by 9:15, which is exceptionally early. talk to you later joe FYI: No only child has been a U.S. President. (guess this counts me out then, huh?)

Construction Update

well, here is the construction update for this week, a little late i understand but i had to get up at 6 yesterday morning and spent the entire day in boonville. so here it is. "Crews are working extra hours at the new Atunyote Clubhouse. Finishing work around light fixtures, outlets, sprinklers, and heating and air conditioning vents continues. Workers are painting and hanging wallpaper, installing window casements and interior doors, and staining woodwork. Atunyote will host the Eastern PGA Championship tournament at the end of September, and the clubhouse will be ready for use by then. At Turning Stone, the first two rows of parking were closed off last week to allow for the final phase of redesigning the parking lots. The temporary Casino Valet station, which had been located outside the Smokin' wing facing the parking garage, also was moved back to the Hotel circle last week. Carpet installers at the Tower Hotel began working double shifts last week. As the carpet is installed on each floor, furniture, which began arriving last month, is moved into the rooms. Security patrols of the Tower also have been stepped up until permanent locks are installed in all the Tower rooms. MEanwhile, wallpaper installation has reached the 15th floor, and bath tile installation is up to the 17th floor. Work also continues at a rapid pace in the Events Center. Most of the drywall has been installed in the Events Center, and painting is about half done. Crews still are installing the retractable and fixed seating, while other finish work on the elevators and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure. In the Winter Garden, most of the palm trees have been planted, and installation of the marble flooring is nearly three-quarters done. Most of the interior water features have been completed, and the interior stonework is nearly complete." From what i have been told, the bakery is the one that is most done already. wish i could get another look at it although they have stepped up security and you now need a hard hat to go in there. well they are now inforcing that rule i guess. darn it. thats about all for now talk to you later joe

Wednesday is good

Well its wednesday again and also my friday. Tomorrow i have to take my truck to Crills, there is some funky sound going on in the vicinity of the wheels, so that will be checked out tomorrow, hopefully fixed if its not too expensive, but im sure it will be. this means i will spend my whole day at moms, yeah me. and i might even be able to mow the lawn with the new lawn mower. and the other gopod part is that i get to use my bike, seeing as i really dont want to walk all the way home, yeah i know its not far but still, i'd rather ride in some fashion. also tomorrow i get some other things done, like have kate make copies of my last year W-2's and latest statement from the bank. why you ask? well, i am in the process of trying to purchase a house in sylvan beach. im extremely doubtfull at this point that i will get it considering my track record for getting approved for anything other than more credit cards. hell i couldt get a consolidation loan for 1000 dollars from my own bank. but keep your fingers crossed again for me. yesterday kate had a visit to the doctors for the baby, and i got to hear the heartbeat. couldnt hear it too well, but i did hear it a bit. and no we dont know what it is yet, the hopefull date is october 8 if the kid wants to cooperate that is. and the trend is continuing at work, my current boss just found out that his wife is 9 wks pregnant with their second child, very happy for him. that brings the grand total of people having kids that i work with or have worked with at the casino to about 5, all of them due within 6 mos of eachother. very interesting, must be something in the water at work, or at least the air. i think thats all for me. talk to you later joe

Casino update

well, i fianlly found out what the pay rate was going to be for the bakery. its going to be 10.22, exactly what i am making so that is good. i can deal with that. with me working nights i can go do all the things that happen in the evening, sounds really good to me. i got my 90 day review today all good with a few items above normal. they said that i should go to the classes that the casino offers and to look through cook books to get more ideas for specials and that i should walk with someone that is doing inventory so that i can see what that is all about. all in all a very good review. everything is good on the home life too. nothing new there. so ill get to the casino update for ya. Construction and Expansion update from the weekly team meber newsletter: "The semi-circular drive in front of the Winter Garden will have a paving-stone surface, which workers began installing last week. Like the drive leading to the Lodge, the Winter Garden driveway has a steam-heat system underneath the paving stones to prevent snow and icve build-up during the winter. That system will be connected to an outdoor water feature in front of the Winter Garden. Inside, the Winter Garden is beginning to coalesce into a light, airy space with a tropical feel. Several 22-foot palm trees were planted last week, as were some other trees and a few exotic plants. The stonework on the interior walls neared completion last week, and roof-supporting columns are being clad in rich wood panels with metal accents. Furniture for the Tower Hotel began arriving last week. Part of the Tower's front desk also is in place, to the right of the escalators as you enter the Winter Garden. The brown-toned marble floor tile flows from the Winter Garden into the Tower reception area, and a third waterfall is in place next to the escalators. The escalators will carry guests to the new restaurant on the Winter Garden's second level and to the corridor leading to the Events Center. Escalators also have been installed near the new banquet kitchen in the Events Center. These will provide guests easy access between the Events Center and the gaming floor. The Events Center also will have a new audio/visual room and a new room for unused cards and dice. Crews began laying stone last week for the new 200-foot wall at the main entrance to the resort on Route 365. The new wall will replace the existing one and will hold new Turnign Stone signage. Shelves and counters have been installed in the pro shop area of the new clubhouse at Atunyote. Crews are painting, installing lighting and other fixtures, and finishing the brick veranda on the rear of the building." Another update will come next week about the same time. these newsletters come out either monday or tuesday of every week. Nothing else to report so... talk to you later joe
